The world of Arkaria is a dangerous place, filled with dragons, titans, goblins and other dangers. Those who live in this world are faced with two choices live an ordinary life or become an adventurer and seek the extraordinary.

When their allied settlement in Emerald Fields is attacked by the mighty titans, the guild of Sanctuary is drawn into a centuries-old conflict between the races of Southern Arkaria, a conflict that threatens to spill north into the war-ravaged lands of men and elves...and one which place Sanctuary into conflict with the oldest and most dangerous force on Arkaria...the legendary dragons.

Warlord The Sanctuary Series Book 6 eBook Robert J Crane

I'm giving it three stars because it's better than Crusader (book 4), which I gave 2 stars to. But honestly Warlock is not a very good book. While the writing is better than Crusader, Crane's story-telling skill (one of his strengths) fails him here. There's no surprises, no twists or turns - the plot is straight forward and feels very repetetive. Worse, it's a downer - almost nothing good happens throughout this book and there is every indication the series-level plot is going to continue on that path as well. The interesting plots and sense of hope carried the previous books and helped them overcome the tedious, repetitive dialogue, one-dimensional characters, and immature character responses that seem to be a hallmark of this series. But now we have all those shortcomings along with an uninspired plot and a story that can only be described as a gloomy. There are two more books in this series, plus the two half-level books (4.5 and 5.5) that I haven't read, but I'm done. Warlock did it for me. The only possible reason I could recommend this book is if you are this far into the series and want some closure.

Warlord The Sanctuary Series Book 6 eBook Robert J Crane Reviews

Another solid installment of the Sanctuary series. We finally find out a few nice details about the "now vs x years ago" which is nice to finally see. It did take six books to finally tell me what I suspected between Cyrus and Vara. I really enjoy this series but I am wondering how many more battles are left, given how detailed the author is.

I look forward to the next book in 2016!
Book 6 (or... is it 8 with 4.5 and 5.5?? Anyways...) in my all-time favorite series. Robert J Crane knows how to suck you in and knows how to keep you wanting more. I've officially read all of the books in the Sanctuary series and... Well... I can't wait for the spin-offs to come out! Cyrus, Arkaria, and the rest of my crew have become an addiction!
Cyrus is again caught in a battle for his life, Sanctuary and those he loves. Vara has finally acknowledged her true feelings and although they draw strength from each other, the dark force's are trying to break him and shatter their world. Plans and strategies are somehow leaking to the opposition. For them to win this war the many casualties may be too big a price.
I absolutely love the Sanctuary Series by Robert Crane, it has me hooked. The best part is that the first few books were free, but that alone was enough to get me on board. I like the style of writing and how it changes from the main character to others around him. The story is set around magic users in an almost knight/castle setting. There are a bunch of loops and turns when you least expect it, which is great since I am always on the edge of my seat reading this wanting more.
After all the build up from books 1-3, I have finally appreciate what Mr. Crane has done in this series in 4. 4.5,5,5.5,6. No longer am I hanging onto what happened to Sanctuary but actually care about the mind set and motivation of Cyrus. After finishing Warlord, I am re-reading the series to pick up on all the little nuances I have missed. Though predictable on some story arcs, I do appreciate the complexity on the character development. I pre-ordered Heretic and can't wait for the finale in book 8.
Mr. Crane creates scenes and a story that you can see, touch, smell and taste as you travel with Sanctuary through their trials and tribulations. From frosty but caring Vara to sarcastic and humorous Vaste you will be part of their story as mysterious facts unfold and the plot thickens. Although, Cyrus is the main, the rest of this caste takes center stage and sweeps your interest. I find this whole series a well written journey that I plan on taking several times in the future. If you are a reader of adventure, scifi, fantasy and adventure, this series is for you!
Cyrus is not the easiest warrior to be able to find the most unlikely and horrible things that can happen when they have been hidden from all by one of the gods. However, when the truth is not hidden from all but broadcast to the masses; heroes can suddenly become a very different and deadly person. The giants are beaten by Cyrus and the dragons kill all the rest of their kind. However, Cyrus is now labeled as a heratec because he used magic to beat the titan that he was fighting.
I'm giving it three stars because it's better than Crusader (book 4), which I gave 2 stars to. But honestly Warlock is not a very good book. While the writing is better than Crusader, Crane's story-telling skill (one of his strengths) fails him here.
